Got on water about 6:40 am at dead low tide heading directly toward Wood Key. Lots of deep areas just east of Key. Worked southeast point and south wall. Saw some reds but was on top of them before I could react. Worked my way around Little Wood Key where I got one 18" snook. Came back around north wall of Wood Key and made my way over to Black Key where I worked most of east wall. Headed in about 12:30. Did manage several 13/14" trout along the way. First day out in a while where wind was not a factor.

I like that area by Wood. Deep sections and clear. How was the floating grass? It's been good of late, but summer's coming.

There was some floating grass but not bad. I could have probably gotten away with top water but stuck with soft plastic all morning. Should have probably tried top water south of the Key where I had seen the reds.

Let me know how you make out. As you know, I am pretty much a diehard white on red man. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate so you can get out soon, after the well needed rain.
