Launched about 6:15 am with Mike and Bob, the latter visiting from North Carolina. Mike brought along an extra kayak for Bob while I provided rods and tackle. Unfortunately, my newer Fenwick rod and Stratic 3000 reel disappeared from the back of Bob's kayak somewhere between Josslyn Island and Wood Key. For the most part, the water was flat calm and crystal clear, and again, we were on a very low receding tide. We had to paddle across much of the flats. We did not find the rod and reel; however, we did find quite a few tales. Bob was the the only one of the three of us to be successful and snare one. Bob also caught a smallish barracuda earlier in the day and we all had numerous trout on the morning, several of which were in the 18 - 20 inch range.

Saw several sea turtles as well as a small pod of manatee; however, on a sad note, two of the manatee had what appeared to be fresh propeller scars. All in all, good day on the water, although costly.
