Has anyone experienced signs of red tide recently in PI Sound or Matlacha Pass?

Not red tide but GREEN ALGAE
I visited a river front property in North FT Myers this morning and got to see the green algae close up.

After 10 minutes talking to a contractor near the waters edge I could feel some choking in my throat. And that was only from a 10 ft wide band hugging the shore.

I hope the Corps can keep their promise to stop discharging Lake O water to the Caloosahatchee. but, I will not bet on it.

I was out in Matlacha yesterday, 7/11; didn't see any dead fish or obvious red tide. Lot's of manatees. Got a late start due to a lightening storm. Finally on water about 6:30 am. Water extremely tannic, could barely see the bottom in most places. There were tiny particulates of something (looked greenish in color) suspended in the water with some areas with little current having a film on the surface. Fishing was brutal. Did manage 5 snooklet, 2 small trout, a couple of snapper and a lady fish. Everything caught on white or Houdini Z-man paddler-z's.
