Launched on the negative low tide about 11:00 am, heading toward Black Key. Again, had to walk the yak out quite a way before I could paddle, let alone use the peddles. Wind was forecast to be out of the east between 9 - 12 but it must have been more in the range of 10 - 14. Water was a bit choppy. Trolled and threw a little once past the oyster bars, getting small taps and frayed leader. Moved on to north point of the Key and around to back channel where I was mostly protected from the wind. Saw a few reds and had one hook up but hadn't tightened the drag and lost it on the set. Did boat an 18" snook. Decided to head in about 3:00, directly into the wind which had since picked up some.

BTW, saw two guys and a yellow lab on a john boat with a center console and tall tower fishing the same area in back of Black Key. They appeared to be doing a bit more "catching" than me although the fish did not appear to be very large. Could they have been...?
