Has anybody made one of these for their outback?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnI72mIu0-w

I'm looking at making one that extends a little further back to fit a small cooler/livewell in front of it. Also I want to add some rod holders that point off to the sides of the kayak for trolling in the future.

Any tips or suggestions surrounding this design?

Seems like a lot of trouble for nothing. Two Scotty type mounts are all you really need IMO, do you have four arms? Why 4 rods haha

You make a good point. I usually like to take 2-3 rods to minimize on retying if I have a breakoff or want to switch lures and I always have a net. It seems like these would keep them behind me and out of the way but maybe you’re right and a couple of scotty mounts would be all I need.

I did one like that for my PA and it was honestly just more to carry. I will likely make another one when I get an Outback, but I may not as it just adds to what you have to carry. You can see mine in this section....

I thought about that too.. I have a sedan so my space is fairly limited. I’m looking at getting an engel live bait cooler anyway, so I think I’m going to just drill 4 rod holders into that and keep it behind my seat. If I ever wanted to troll a rod or 2 (which I don’t even do now anyway) I can figure that out later.
