Even though I have fished here a lot, I never expect to compete with the pros. Just not that good, too impatient mostly. The tournament is fun, as a get together, like the DOA was. We can have fun for a couple of days, if you come over. We can look at the tides those days, and based on what I've seen, can hit my usual spots, and see what we can come up with. You could even bring the financial advisor, she could have a good time browsing the artsy places in Matlacha while we were on the water.

FYI, I've seen it mentioned here a few times, but the DOA tournament is on our side of the state this year!

Talked to DOA, and they will be having a link to sign up for the tournament soon. The only link on the site is for accommodations at the tournament site. If anyone is interested, I suggest making resv. soon, as the surrounding motel/hotels in that area are booking up.The hotel policy for cancellations is at least 4 days in advance, 100% refundable.

krash, did you read my previous posts? Yes, there were kayak fishing guides in the tournament so it is very competitive, but anybody can get lucky (like I did since it was my first tournament) and get the slam and beat a number of the "pros"!

Yeah the term kayak guide kind of makes me laugh. I've never been in a tourney but I may have to do the DOA one since it's in my back yard this year.

Sean, the DOA tourney only allows anglers to use lures from the lure bag given out at the Capt. meeting. You should do OK, if you are familiar with their products.
