Has anyone been out in Estero Bay or surrounding area how is the red tide? I was hoping this east wind we’ve had recently had pushed most of it back out. I was out there couple weeks ago and it seemed pretty lifeless.

Last report I heard on Sat. was the bay was clear, creeks and backwaters east are the best bet though. Listen to the archive for Aug. 25th, on this radio show. It should be up by tomorrow.

Sailorman... does it look like the Red Tide issue is dying down, or is the clearing just a result of East winds or something ?

Doesn't seem like it is going away, just shifts with the winds. Some beaches are fine, and three miles away they have a high count.

Out here, East side off Ft. Lauderdale, we been dealing with tons of floating grass, its hard to fsh for dolphin cause you spend most of the day clearing weeds and its not like reeling in a spook and pulling off a peice of grass.

The beaches here are covered in weeds deep as crap and 20 to 50 feet up the beach, smells like crap... but no dead fish fortunately.
