Does anyone know if it's possible to park a trailer overnight at Caxambas Park. Wife and I want to do an overnight camping/fishing trip to Cape Romano with our kayaks, and obviously, need a place to launch and park. We are considering using the launch by the old Goodland bridge, but would prefer a more secure place to keep the truck and trailer overnight...

Thanks!

You could try the Goodland public launch on the Goodland side of the bridge. They have a good size parking area and a store. Its next to Coon Marina. There phone number 252-4000

Thanks for the info. We ended up using Calusa Island Marina. They were supposed to charge us $25, but when we went to pay, the guy said "Happy New Year" and gave us a paid permit for gratis! We were worried about parking the truck and trailer overnight, so it was nice to know that it is gated and have security cameras etc. After seeing some of the hardware parked around the place, I was not worried about my little trailer and F-150!

We ended up camping on Kice Is. It was my wifes first ever camping trip, but I snuck in a little fishing. I caught one Spansh Mackeral in Blind Pass fishing from shore. This morning, while we were enjoying our coffee, we saw several stingrays and a blacktip shark jumping in the pass. On the way back to the launch, we spooked a bunch of redfish while paddling.

Other than the humidity and unseasonably high temperature (what is this, August?), we had a great time!

How far was the paddle from the Marina to the Island you camped on?
