Just got a text from my brother that has a place on Sanibel. Says the water looks brown with a clear demarcation line. He saw the same thing earlier in the day when driving over the causeway? Anyone hear of a new round of releases? BTW - yesterday, kayaking south of Pineland in PI Sound, water did appear to be very dirty along east wall, but didn't think too much of it at the time..

It was probably just because the tide was going out. The river is still going to have brown, tanic water regardless of Lake O'.

I am looking for an internet site where the Corps of Engineers gives the recorded daily water releases from Lake O. But still have not found one.

Here is a link to the SFWMD site, perhaps that is what you are looking for.. It has real time data on the state of monitored gates and pump stations. With a little searching and research you can find that data.

They change the user interface form time to time and I have to re-train myself every time I go there looking which is not that oftem.
