I saw that, but I have plans Monday morning. Regardless of weather I'll be "roughing" it Friday morning. I actually kind of want to go outside the bar outside of two pines and see if I can get a tarpon to jump.

I was thinking of towing another kayak with a smoker and a grill to make sure we have enough options for cheesy dogs.

Pretty big chance of thunderstorms Monday morning, dissipating by the afternoon presently... I'll probably delay until after the thunderstorms. Guess I should probably seam seal my tarp...

How are ya'll planning food? Joe I know you usually just eat protein bars and cheetos on Two Pines trips, any point in bringing gas&stove?

I am going to plan to launch in the AM, if the weather is that bad I will go to House of Omelets until it clears.

I plan on bringing packaged/ canned foods. Have a mini gas stove to boil water. Trying to keep this simple.

Are we able to have a fire there?

Also Any point of bringing a shark rod/ rod holder?

The two pines camp has a pretty small beach head, you'd need to get into your yak to have a chance of landing the shark. That said, we will be right on Charlotte harbor, and there's a nice cut right in front of the camp and to the south of the camp. The sandbar isn't far away either, so pretty good chance of getting a shark out there.

EDIT: Well, my boss just called and I have to go to Key West tomorrow... so much for time off.

I may head out there tonight just to get ahead of the morning rain and to get set up while dry. The only reason I was thinking of bringing a stove would be for coffee. I was going to bring a rod holder or two just in case. If it's too rough for fishing the big rod from my yak there's a spot from shore I wanted to try.

I'm on my way home from Key west now. Haven't had time to pack or load anything, will likely joinyou in the afternoon tomorrow, provided I can get everything together and kit the door.

edit: I typed that leaving key west... I was stuck going 40-45 the whole way on a1a and then there was an accident on the turnpike with two or three flipped cars... I didn't get home until 3am. Then I got scheduled something and had to be in Bradenton at 8am... I may just join you guys next time.

You didn't miss much. Only the biggest fish I have landed in my life. I'll put up a report when I'm home from work. The inshore game was a little slow, but I didn't care much after Thursday night.

I saw it on reddit... Man that is awesome. Those fish are usually territorial, think he's found a home near there? No idea when I'll be able to get out, busy couple of weekends coming up and we're (potentially) moving in June. Congrats on that catch Joe, that must've been an amazing fight!
