Went out today at Burnt Store Marina at 6 am. I wanted to chase around some cobia and tarpon this morning in the deeper water off the bar, but after 1 hour and 45 minutes of waiting for one to show itself I decided to move on and try for snook and reds. Once in the shallows I was able to get a redfish at 24" and then another nice redfish at 26" later with both being caught on a mirrodine. Overall I ended by 1pm with 3 reds, a handful of snook all around 18-20 ", a bunch of trout, and some lady fish.

Nice one. I hate that we don;t have a RedFish population over here on the SE side, without driving 2+ hours to Flamingo. It always puzzles me why they did not succeed in Biscayne Bay, years ago they tried twice to populate them here with releases but for what ever reason it did not work out. There area few that are huge but seldom do we see small ones and its even more scarce for people to catch one. I see them once in a while on groups of 2 or 3 fish cruising, and have seen a bucnh in a pod more than once but they spook very easy and seldom bite. Most do not have spots either.

krash, on your side, I would go up to Mosquito Lagoon, or Sebastian Inlet. I agree not a good area south, but you have other species that are killer.
