Launched at the SE side of the big Hickory bridge at 6:55AM. Tide was outgoing and ripping pretty good. Water was crystal clear and best of all....no dead fish. I headed to the southern end and fished the area around Interpid Channel. I saw a lot of jumping fish, swirls, and baitfish action which was a good sign. Fishing around a mangrove island I had a big hit and immediately broke off. Line was cut. I don't know if it was from the fish or the oyster bar. I hit the shallow flats using a gulp shrimp and caught a large Jack which is always fun. Caught a 19 inch snook and another big Jack on my way back as well as a catfish.

It was a fun day and it was nice to fish good water with no dead fish.

Nice report. Hopefully this is a sign of the future.

Was that you with the Yakima trailer parked there? I launched a little later and went into the pass and the water was all brown by that point. No bait aroud and pretty dead on the tree side. I did catch some snook and jack with shrimp on the docks at the pass.

Yes, That was me. I've been trying to stay away from the passes so I head south. It's a bit of a trek but I like the water better.

That makes sense. I've been thinking about trying out the barefoot beach launch.
