I launched from the Cochatchee River Park around 7:15. The guy at the bait shop said conditions were good and fish were being caught. As soon as I left the launch I could see a lot of surface commotion so I started throwing a bone colored spook. I had several fish bust my lure but only momentary hook-ups. This lasted for about 30 minutes. I could never get close enough to see what kind of fish they were. The tide was outgoing and the water was clear. I spent most of my time in the bay near the boat channel throwing Gulp shrimp under the mangroves. I caught 3 small snook all in the mangrove roots. I left the bay and fished the sides of the boat channel but caught nothing. On the way back I fished my way into the launch and caught two small jacks.

A fun day and a great day to be out on the water.
