Hadn't been out for more than a week due to the constant threat of thunderstorms. Launched just after 6:00 am after the early shower and it appeared that the clouds on the horizon were not a threat. Got a couple of smallish snook on top water just north of Black Key but there was very little on the flat. Did get one small trout also on top water. Headed west around "no name" and got a rat red tight to the mangroves. Saw lots of larger reds moving thru the channel but couldn't "drum" up a strike. I worked the mangroves relentlessly with soft plastics with nothing to show for it. Had my slam, albeit a small one, and decided to head in about 11:30.

Lots of floating grass in most areas and the water remains pretty cloudy after all the recent rain and winds.

Never met you but from having read many of your past posts, I'd like the opportunity to fish with you sometime. Get better soon. My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.

johnk….. thanks for another report on the Pineland launch fishing situation
.I continue to chase baby tarpon but all from shore for a variety of reasons. They are tough to find then tough to get to strike once found. My best luck recently has been on overcast or rainy mornings. Such fun when they do decide to feed.

krash.. sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I had a couple of those visits recently and am back to nearly normal. So, I pray that the doctors there can get you back on the mend
