On the water about 6:00 AM about an hour before the low. Did the southern route thinking I might find some tails. Water was like an ice skating rink early on. Jumped a smallish tarpon on topwater at first light but lost it on the second jump. No other action on topwater for the rest of the morning. Did find a small area of nervous water by a point of one of the islands and got what was about an 18" red but couldn't hook another. Worked the mangroves around several different islands and called it a day about 1:30 or so. Ended the day with two reds, one trout, a small snook, a lady fish, three snapper and one lizard fish, nothing very big though. Again, nice day on the water.

I admire how you get out and fish so often. That's really great. I'm retired but only get out once a week. Between golf and everything else I do, my schedule is full. You're inspiring me to up my fishing time.

Hi Ajay: At my age, I have to get out as often as the weather will allow. I'm blessed that my wife does not hassle me about the time I spend on the water.

I've always said you can't be too good at fishing and golf at the same time. They both take way too much time to get good at. LOL! I am blessed to be able to fish 2 mornings a week and I still have been working 50 plus hours/week. I need to get down that way to fish sometime. I haven't really been able to find reds up my way, and I really miss catching them. I did a lot of red fishing up in Pensacola. I really appreciate your reports.
